My practice has become a dialogue between research processes and the creation of fictional canon. Anthropological and interpersonal research—engagements with shamans, paranormal investigators, cult members, and others—forms its structural foundation, while extensive philosophical and theoretical research informs and shapes my mode of existence and processes within the work, including current interests in hauntology, fictioning, speculative realism, and “being” as singular-plural. My artistic endeavour could be described as an invocation of myth (of the present), buried deep within hauntological fragments and social imaginaries. My work spans performance, improvisation, choreography, prose, poetry, diagrams, sculpture, science fiction, drawing, sound, costume, digital environments, and moving images. I seek plural multiplicity of passing events to decode “chaos” through fiction, embodying an absent presence that is only felt, and remains invisible. In this way, the practice itself is encoded, leaving traces to be deciphered anew. Ultimately, through storytelling and fictional investigations, I search for the myth of the self—a personal canonical temporality. My intention is to present others with fragmented events through a practice which is inherently interdisciplinary, characterised by its contingency, singular-plurality, and atemporality These presentations of imagined events simultaneously encompass and reveal the archaic and the future, integrating both analogue and digital methods.
